I feel horrible about that, but unfortunately I'm in the middle of a
project at work that has me working 6+ days/week. Plus add Linux Demo
Day (in Springfield and Peoria) and the upcoming Atlanta Linux
Showcase, not to mention all my other usual crap, and you can probably
see how it can be a little hard to get away. (Which really sucks too,
since it was my idea...)

Again, if my memory serves me here, the first meeting was September
19, 1994. I had figured "Hey, there are Linux users groups all over
the place. That sounds like fun." Of course, there were only a tiny
fraction as many as there are now...
It's weird. It certainly didn't feel like we were doing anything all
that ground-breaking with our little toy OS. In retrospect, we were
pretty far ahead back then. SILUG had a Linux web server up back in
'94 (courtesy of, and shared with, John A. Logan College). (St. Louis
didn't even have a LUG until early '95, IIRC, if that gives you any
frame of reference.)
I still want to do the party thing. I'd like to get some of the
old-timers in for it too... Perhaps we should start thinking a little
further out to give us time to schedule the event?
