Downloaded the DVD iso. Burned it w/o issue. Trying to install on the laptop as an upgrade and the system errors out thus:
Error enabling swap device hda3: No such file or directory
The /etc/fstab on your upgrade partition does not reference a valid swap partition.
Press ok to restart your system.
Allrighty then, I say. Reboot into FC6 and take a gander at the fstab.
/dev/hda3 swap swap defaults 0 0
Then I wander over to /dev and lo and behold hda3 exists.
Never seen this error before, so, now I'm a tiny bit lost. So, I read the release notes.
As suggested, I looked at /sbin/blkid and the swap entry has ????? instead of the name swap. That's what's causing the error, all right. But I don't know how to fix it.
So, now I need help. Remember, I don't do this all the time, so please be specific.
One other thing, the release notes more or less advise
against upgrades, so would it be better just to do a fresh install. The only specific issue with that is getting my Thunderbird data back into the correct location. :)
Cheers to all.
