Only "REALMEN" use "vi"; most powerful text editor around.
"Emacs" and "Pico" are for SISSIES :-P
Want to use a texteditor with challenge, try using "ed" sometime, kinda like trying to drive on the highway with your eyes closed |-)

I don't use emacs at all so I can't respond directly about this. How
about using vi in the ssh session? Its simple textonly. Thats what I use.
