Re: x-chat / identd



if im not mistaken there is an irc client for linux that emulates how
somewhat newer versions of mirc handle identd.  the identd is only enabled
when the client is actively trying to connect to irc.  granted that the user
would have to be able to listen on a port < 1024.

i suppose you could ipchains a forward from port 113 to some other port >
1024 (assuming that you can set the identd listening port for the irc
client)

if you cant find a client that does an identd this way then try using mirc
under wine,  from what i hear it works quite well.
