snmpd

Does anyone have snmpd running successfully on their machine?  I've only
ever been able to get it to run on one machine.  I'm running a Redhat 6.0
machine that I desperately need to get bandwidth stats from its eth0, and
every time I do an snmp get (using mrtg), it cores.  Anyone have any
suggestions?  This is using both stock RH 6.0 snmpd, new snmpd rpms from
Redhat, and, a compiled version of snmpd.
