RE: Beowulf at SIUC?



Here's another implementation of Beowulf that's out there.  It's at
http://aggregate.org/KLAT2/. Not sure if this will be any help, but I found
it quite interesting when it first came out.  It's called the Kentucky Linux
Testbed 2.  It's house at the University of Kentucky and only costs about
$650/GFLOPS.

One of the more interesting Beowulf implementations I've seen is a
computer lab where each computer runs pvm or something similar at a
reasonable nice level. A user at the console gets as much CPU time as
they need, but idle CPU time is used for whatever job is running on
the cluster...
