one more thing I was able to determine...  I did an ATI4 in my chat script,
and did a ati4 on the other modem... There were a few differences in the
settings, so I tried all of them that I could

The only one I'm not sure how to change and is most likely the
difference... The modem that works says DIAL=HUNT, whereas when it doesn't
work, it is DIAL=TONE

Any ideas on how to change the dialing to HUNT?
