Are any more changes expected. Since the release is only a month away. You would know better than most with how close you follow it.

We're getting closer. If you can't wait to see what GNOME 3 and systemd
look like and behave, use the attached script to pull down the Beta
release. As usual, put it in /usr/local/bin/, chmod it to 755, and chown
root:root.

As I said about the Alpha release:

Some preview notes...
Inside:
* systemd replaces SysVinitd (this time for sure)
* DNSSEC support for workstations
* 4K sector disk support
* New eth port naming
   See http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/ConsistentNetworkDeviceNaming)
* RPM 4.9, GCC 4.6, GDB 7.3, Maven 3, Python 3.2, Rails 3.0.3
* Setuid-free distribution for security
Outside:
* Libreoffice replaces Openoffice
* Firefox 4
* GNOME 3
* KDE 4.6
* Xfce 4.8

The new GNOME may be the most controversial. Those who switched to GNOME in frustration with KDE 4.0 may return in frustration. The new GNOME-shell is all new, bare bones and lacks the widgets many of us GNOMErs have come to love and depend upon like gnome-panel and nautilus. Purists are saying "Patience, Grasshopper. Those will come." In this user's opinion the glass is half full.

At any rate, if you want to try it save the attached to /usr/local/bin, chmod it to 755, and edit the LOCAL_DEST and LOCAL_USER variables. If you need Steve's linkdups utility, send a private note to him or me.

Looking ahead:
Beta release:    April 12 April 19
Final release:    May 17   May 25
