If you're willing and able to go that route, give it a try.
Plugging "WRT160N" into
http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database, it says DD-WRT
supports the V3 firmware for this router. Note carefully that this does
not say anything about the DNS-proxy bug, so that's obviously an
unanswered question.
I would hope DD-WRT doesn't re-use DNS-proxy code found in the V3
firmware, but it might. You're on your own there.
