To me? No, not really.  I mainly use grep and the like.  I wouldn't run 
it on a production server (but then almost all my production servers are 
unix or linux machines anyway) but for what I do use it for it runs fine.

cygwin has always seemed bulky when one only wants or needs a few cli tools.
