You may have already thought of this, but this is a word of warning
from someone in the industry. While a CCNA is a great cert to have,
it is not a guaranteed job. I've had plenty of CCNAs that have worked
to me that really have no actual concept of how to build or support a
network. That's not to say that this cert means nothing. It's simply
to say that when someone looks at your resume, and sees that cert, if
there's not a lot of other experience there, they will possibly pass
over your resume.
What I will say is that hands-on experience is the number one thing
you need to focus on. In fact, getting a Cisco cert is a bit
difficult without it. There are lots of CCNA packages on Ebay that
give you a switch and a couple of routers. Look for one that has a T1
crossover. Getting your hands dirty in IOS is imperative. Knowing
the OSI model is also a necessity.
Anyway, just some advice :D
