Re: OT - Wipers
I agree with Robert about booting to a just about any of the bootable
distro's out there but sometime you have an old pc that won't read CD-R's.
You can use Darik's Boot and Nuke
Darik's Boot and Nuke ("DBAN") is a self-contained boot floppy that
securely
wipes the hard disks of most computers. DBAN will automatically and
completely
delete the contents of any hard disk that it can detect, which makes it an
appropriate utility for bulk or emergency data destruction.
Nice little utility when you come across an old box that needs the hard
drives wiped or if you want to wipe several hard drives at once. I have an
old pc, with the cover off, that I will hook up four hard drives, boot to
the floppy and it will wipe all of them simultaneously.
