Use "rpm -qi apt" to find the packager.
If it's FreshRPMS, that's the problem.

I never tap FreshRPMS.
At the most I tap DAG, who tracks FreshRPMS (and 5 other repositories),
and is far more Fedora-aligned.

But even then I _never_ put more than Fedora Core, Extras, Legacy and Livna.ORG in my default repository list.
I.e., I sparingly add DAG, and then remove it just after I do any install,
running "apt-get update" each time.

The fedora.us apt does.

You probably accidentally "upgraded" apt to the freshrpms (or some
other repository's) version.
