I agree to some extent, its certainly not ready for grandma's desktop, but
so far i havent had to much in the way of dependency hell (then again i
never really had that much in windows either). I do think that we are
definately getting closer though, and im told that some of the more
commercial distros are really close to that. give it time, it gets better
every day.
actually though if you want a *nix thats ready for grandma, get you some
macosx love. i want a nice dual g5 setup quite badly, but alas, that costs
money, of which i have none.
