I have absolutely no idea what sort of MIDI capabilities it has, but
I'm rather fond of the Creative SB Live 5.1, which I have sold for
around $30 for an OEM card in the past.  They work great under Linux,
and they have hardware mixer support that lets you open /dev/dsp
something like 512 times.

You might want to look up the specs on that and the Audigy, which
isn't that much more expensive.
