Dunno. You think I should try that? Does it build from scratch with
everything optimized for my platform?
The most important question is: Is the install easier (or equivalent) to Gentoo?
Gentoo, for the uninformed has a process where you unpack a small tarball
containing mainly gcc and the linker. It then downloads the source for
binutils and gcc and the linker, compiles them on your box, switches to
the newly compiled gcc, and bootstraps everything else from there from source
over the net.
I haven't checked out the progeny installer as posted earlier.
I'm tired of pre-compiled RPMs that never seem to have the same options
I have in my kernel or compiled for my CPU.
