I don't remember if iptables is mentioned in any of the errata, but
there's been a -4, -5, and -10.  You might want to try "apt-get
install kernel\#2.4.18-10" on your firewall and try again.

Certainly can't hurt anything, anyway.

That should be fine.  (The userspace tools shouldn't have much to do
with this anyway.)
