Okay.  I found the "drvblock.img" image on CD #1 and created another floppy.
However, when I type "linux mem=512M dd" at the "boot:" prompt, it never asks me
for the driver disk.  8-(

By the way... yes, the CD's were burned by me.  But I still think I'll need the
driver floppy.

How old is the proliant? Is the RH 7.3 self-burned? I have had some
problems with older Compaq "professional workstations" with scsi cdroms
using self-burned disks (a cd-r problem). Also, when I used the "skipjack"  
beta version for 7.3 I needed to boot from floppy and have the block
devices disk available to get the driver for the scsi controller.

On one of the machines I finally had to temporarily install an IDE cd for 
the installation, and then do the rest of the updating with apt.
