RE: Okay, so WTF happened? and FVH Administrivia

I disagree, it is a big deal. Steven and I aren't group leaders for the
local chapter (nor should we be) but I feel just as guilty as though we
were. However, Steven's right, without keys we weren't much help either ;P
I had confirmed that this meeting would be held at SRA at the last
meeting, so I just hope nothing bad had happened.

We do have an alternative meeting location set up. It's about twice the
size of SRA's conference room, but less than 1/2 as nice. It is only 2
buildings over from SRA too. The room doesn't have the nice projection
system as SRA, but there is a screen and we can use GMAC's projector. It
also doesn't have an Internet connection, however maybe we can scrounge up
a small wireless kit and tap into GMAC's T1 downstairs :-) At first
glance, $200 will get us a couple of 11mbit wireless PCMCIA cards, we
could put one of ours downstairs in the office and our other card
upstairs. If we did this though, we'd have to either find a sponsor or a
pass the hat (my budget really can't swing it, I'm afraid).

Anyhow, Jim, do you want to go through the trouble of trying again next
month for your presentation? I feel so badly that you drug out all of your
stuff for this to have this mixup. If not, I understand, I'll catch up on
arranging the tutorial day.

For other administrivia, there seems to be confusion about who is supposed
to keep track of sending out FVH SILUG meeting announcements. Does someone
want to take that responsibility? Announcements need to be made a few days
in advance, with meeting directions, times, and topics (some of Steven's
past emails are good templates). Unfortunately cron isn't good at nth day
each month schedules and this is best accomplished by an individual. This
mail needs to be sent to silug-announce@silug.org each month.

For even more administrivia, we've had some great presentations in the
last few months. I'd like to archive the presentations on SILUG.org and
actually use them on LinuxUsersGroups.org for the presentations database
too ;) Will you guys send me your presentation slides for the archive?

Okay, I'm done now. I swear.

PS. Steve Reindl, I brought your copy of the Caldera Training software
tonight. Want to meet up somewhere (or come by) to pick it up before our
next meeting?

Personal PS. To all those who were interested, we've been told it's gonna
be a girl ;)
