Personally, I'd look at it the other way.  You might want to use
128-bit WEP (worthless though it may be) at some point, so why not pay
a couple bucks extra for the Gold card?

Which isn't necessarily a good thing.  A crappy signal can make up for
lack of security.  ;-)
