smake
Just another question (can you tell I stayed home sick from work today,
nice break from 70 hour weeks).
During my cdrecord ordeal, I download the latest version of smake, the
make utility recomended for cdrecord. Now I got a file called
'smake-i586-linux' approx 60k, no extension. I can't find any useful info
on the web site of FTP site, so what do I do with this file? Just for
kicks I tried changing permisions, but it wouldn't execute, tried to untar
it, but my command line tar utility seems broken (I've never had it work
right, just hangs up on me). I changed the extension to .tar and tried
it from Xwin, then it gave a nice error message 'uhh, stupid, this sure
ain't no tar file' or something like that.
So it's not a tar file. What the hell is it and what whould I do with it.
Thanks,
Matt Wehland
