I used to use apache's mod_proxy.  I liked it.  Then I discovered
squid.  It makes mod_proxy look like a complete joke.  (Not that
mod_proxy is that bad...  Squid is just that damn good.)

Hopefully squid comes with your favorite distribution.  Otherwise, do
a search on Yahoo.
