Next Meeting and Sound

Okay, I'm wanting to attend the next meeting and start getting involved
again, Mark.  When's the next meeting?  My mind hasn't had a working
calendar lately.  (I thought today was Thursday until a little while ago).
Also, has anyone played with OSS or any other sound drivers with Linux?
I've been trying to get x11amp working, and, while I can play .wav files
using cat foo.wav >> /dev/audio or whatever, I get nasty static when I try
to play mp3s.  This is when using the redhat driver for my soundblaster 16
that I have in my Linux machine.  Any suggestions?  TIA.

PS:  Hi Josh.  MVN CDs are suddenly a myth.  The install is hosing itself.
