undefined reference to `crypt'

	Does anyone know what I can do to solve this error message I keep getting
with different programs?

	undefined reference to `crypt'

	I get it when I try to compile an "adduser" C program on Red Hat 5.0 with
the new glibc libs.
	Now I'm getting it with a TACACS passwd encryption program.
	This thing is driving me nutso.
	I'm not even a novice at C so I hope you understand.
