Since it seems to be confusing everyone, I think why it was referred to as "great" is because of RMS's infamous abuses of people.  He's kind of known to be a jerk.  I've had a personal interaction with him that doesn't go against that theory.  I'll be glad to tell anyone about it offline at some point.  Google "richard stallman is a jerk" or "richard stallman is an idiot" sometime.

That all being said, not sure if anyone deserves to be robbed, no matter how much of a jerk they are.
