	Check the simple things first:

	- /storage and /storage/recordings need to have at least 0755
permissions ( drwxr-xr-x )

	- /storage/recordings needs to be owned by the username that is trying
to write to the directory, typically mythuser or mythtv.

	If all that checks out, is /storage a separate mounted disk/partition
that was added after install of the system?  If so, unmount /system,
then change the permissions on /storage to 0755, then remount the
partition and try again.
