Re: Hardware help!

Good choice using water. Some solvents, especially abrasive solvents can
damage the etching material on the board so that was the safest choice. I
would have let it dry overnight as to guarantee no hidden moisture was
present but 1 hour was probably good. I have found some keyboards that
should fit your model on ebay but they are pretty pricey.(around $70) My
bet still lies on the connector not being seated. Most of the laptops I've
seen have a pull out latching device inside the connector. It pulls out
about 1/16th of an inch to let the ribbon insert easy. Then once it's
seated you push the latch back inside to secure the ribbon. They are
sometimes hard to tell if its that kind of connector so look close! And I'm
sure you already checked, but make sure the ribbon isn't backwards or upside
down. With a laptop, they shouldn't have enough length on the cable to be
inserted upside down, but I'm not familiar with your model. Let me know how
it turns out.

Ok will double check the connector, again :P.

Just used a water, warm washcloth, then let air dry for an hour, too be
sure.
