On windows i use putty for ssh and filezilla for sftp/scp (it also works
as an ftp client). I have used winscp and it is a nice product as was
stated earlier in this thread (i have just ran into problems sometimes
when it is transfering a very large amount of data at a high data rate
over the course of a day or so, but that has probably been taken care of
and i never had a problem with small datasets)
On linux if you use gnome or kde you have the ability to enter
sftp://host/blah/blah in the address bar of nautilus/konq/etc.. and drag
and drop from your desktop environment just like you do anything else on
the file system.
