So my work system had a power failure over the weekend and when I got
back to it, my evolution client couldn't open several emails or check my
email. When it fails, it complains that it failed to get a lock using
fcntl. I know that this is a file locking mechanism available in the C
libraries. I also remember from studying it that it wasn't a secure
system in that anyone could unlock any file by simply calling the
correct function (ie, no passwords or anything). So, I was wondering if
anyone knew a quick and easy way to remove the locks from a file without
having to write up some C code.
Thanks,
Ken
