i used parted.
i used: (parted) mkpartfs primary ext2 0 250
it then formats it or whatever it did and then i have to load it up with
(as root logged in or user logged in as su) #mount /dev/sda1 /media/usbdisk
i don't think i partitioned it per se, i did simply tell it to create an
entry on it, and to use the entire disk.
