Re: speakers for internship meetings

Hi Steve,

I think I'd make a good candidate, but I'm a little nervous in front of large crowds of people,
How many people are we talking about here? Anyway, here's why I think I would be a good candidate for a speaker
for you :

  - I have two AAS degrees, one in CAD(Drafting) Technology(1988) , the second one in CIS (1999). both
degrees from SWIC (Well back in them days, it was BAC)
  - I've been successfully continuously employed by various companies for the last 18 years
  - I've done alot of different types of work in IT to various indepth levels. In my career, I've done
LAN/WAN Administration, PC Support, Windows Administration, Network Admin & troubleshooting, TCP/IP, Ethernet, some Novell.
In my last 10 years, On the programming side I've done C Programming, Java, LISP, some Visual Basic, Perl and
CGI scripting. On the Admin & Networking side, I've done more UNIX/Linux System development and Admin, as
well as System Integration, and Porting over of Systems from one platform type to another.
  - I've currently hold 4 professional certifications, and I have changed jobs about 8 times in the last
18 years and careers once.
- I currently work for AT&T in their Bridgeton Server Operations Group. I'm currently a Senior Consultant/Staff Manager for a large Consulting Company here in St. Louis, and live in Illinois.
  - I have a very positive attitude towards my work and am enthusiastic about the world of IT in general .
  - I can tell you some of the ups and downs of various different areas you mentioned below, and also
talk about education and it's importance and continued education, talk about some of the differences between
consulting and being a permanent employee, salary scale, etc, etc .
  - I like helping people, because over the course of my career, I've been helped by others, too many times
to count. If it weren't for SWIC, I wouldn't be where I am today. SWIC/BAC has crafted both of my careers.
Luckily for me, my career has advanced and gone up steadily over the years with hard work and a little help.
  - I can comment on resume contents, and tell you what employers are looking for,(what floats and
what doesn't).

Only thing is that right now, I'm working on the night shift , 4PM to 12:00 Midnight, I work Tuesday
thru Saturdays, so my only night I could do this now, would be Monday night. After Mar 23rd, I will probably
be back on day shift. Let me know if you're interested, you can reach me at home during the day from about 9 AM to 2 PM Mon thru Sat. My home number is 618-538-9108
