okay. i have read the LDP's "NFS How-To," and that didn't help. i did
everything it said. however, there were some improvements.
* my computer now logically knows that i have shared my desired
folders. to the best of my knowledge, that is. when i typed in
(as root) exportfs -a, i did not recieve any errors.
however, there was a problem
* on the client computer ... it is merely saying the server is down.
my computers domain is 192.168.0.1 (standard stuff), and the IP address
is 101. my client computer is 100. my computer's name
(localhost.locadomain) is fc3-bentley. i'm trying to connect with the
following
* mount 192.168.0.0:/portney/mp3 /mnt/mp3
o server is down
* mount 192.168.0.101:/portney/mp3 /mnt/mp3
o server is down
* mount fc3-bentley:/portney/mp3 /mnt/mp3
o can't get address
