[ Not questioning your preference, just interesting in details ]

PalmOS was built for handhelds and it excels at it for me.

It also has an entire suite of tools for syncing with everything from
the Pilot suite to desktops to _direct_ support in connecting to
networks (e.g., OpenGroupware.ORG/SKYRiX).

I do not subscribe to the viewpoint "Linux for Linux's sake."
I use the best solution for the job.

There is a lack of Pilot-equivalent tools for Linux-based handhelds,
although they have gotten better thanx to what Sharp was able to do.

I'll always appeciate the work Sharp did for producing code for thee
community in its efforts, just like other commercial efforts that came
to an end like Loki Entertainment (countless libs/standards), Corel
Linux (e.g., WINE and, especially, WINELIB), etc...

But as a consumer, it didn't sell because they didn't make an effective
case to replace what already existed.

If a Linux-based product is to gain marketshare, it either has to be
first of its kind (e.g., TiVO), or have great value over anything
already existing (e.g., most "black box" perimeter solutions).
