Re: high speed internet carbondale
I work for Shawneelink during the day so I would of course lean towards them.
We do run *NIX for our servers and we do give a static IP to residential
customers. We don't do shell access for users.
All of our DSL is now up to 1.5mbps down where people's lines qualify.

I did mediacom before I went to work for ShawneeLink and the only problems I had
with them were that my IP did change after a big outtage when a bunch of leases
got renewed and I learned not to count on the IP being static and their whole
cable company mentality for dealing with outtages.
