*Basic* security is roughly equivalent. NTFS has a lot more 'properties' 
for groups and users, but that can be a plus or minus depending on the 
viewpoint.

Sone of the newer Linux FSs offer many improvements over basic NTFS, 
however I am not up to speed on them.
