Hey, that looks an awful lot like GUIDs and Windows registry entries. 
What OS did you say this was? :=)
Didn't those GNOME guys learn anything? Besides "Let's make a 
Windows-like registry that's just as completely indecipherable, but 
we'll do it in XML so it will be portable, buzzword compliant, and look 
great on our resumes that we build applications that use XML".
