 Unfortunately IRC is filled with rude people. It's not confined to #linux 
either. I wrote to FreeBSD-advocacy about #freebsd which is really bad. It's 
beyond rudeness; it's a public relations disaster. The #freebsd is run 
by "professional" sysadmins; I think they work at ISP's.
