It's pretty much given that you'll find a bunch of morons floating
around on IRC, especially the macro-networks like DALnet and Undernet.
In fact, many in those channels aren't very knowledgeable at all, or
arrogant, and often both.
Freenode and OFTC tend to be a little better, but I can certainly tell
you that you'll find your fair share of arrogance wherever you go on
IRC (or the net for that matter.)
There's also a #silug on OFTC, if anyone's interested. Steve has been
known to hang out in there, although it's usually a dead channel with
him by himself. ;)
