In Xandros, I just open XFM and click on "Create a new CD" in the file tree 
under the CD icons in the "Exlorer-like" device tree view.

Then I just start dragging files onto the right-hand display pane (where files
in a directory are normally), and the bar at the bottom fills up to tell me
when my CD is "full".

Then I click on the link that says "Burn CD". Boy was that hard work.

Maybe it's your distro. :=)
