There have been a lot of good changes since 1.99.3, so
in the interests of increased testing and, well,
speedy releases, I'd like to get 1.99.4 out the door
this Monday.
1.99.4 will be 2.0beta4. It will the be final beta in
the 2.0 series. After that, I plan for a series of 3
release candidates, each happening about 5-7 days
after each other.
Tentative schedule and what's allowed to happen:
Aug 8 <-- today
Aug 11 <-- 2.0beta4 (1.99.4) [documentation,
translations, bug fixes, feature polish]
Aug 16 <-- 2.0rc1 (1.99.5) [documentation,
translations, bug fixes]
Aug 21 <-- 2.0rc2 (1.99.6) [documentation,
translations, bug fixes. All checkins must be sumitted
in patch form to Dom and Martin]
Aug 27 <-- 2.0rc3 (1.99.7), tree branches for
ABIWORD-2-0-0 [*critical* documentation, translations,
bug fixes. All checkins must be sumitted in patch form
to Dom and Martin. The idea is that nothing will
happen in this branch for about a week, ideally.]. New
development allowed to happen in the HEAD tree without
permission from Dom and Martin.
Aug 31/Sept 1 <-- 2.0
Sept 2/3 <-- Binaries/installers, plugins, press
releases, website announcements, spam world+cat
Personally, I plan on fixing bugs and user-level
documenting nonstop for the next 3 weeks. All of your
code, documentation, translation, valgrind, etc...
help is greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Dom
