it was going great until my eval of win2k3 decided to bork a partition 
holding some data for a friend and also the main boot partition.  so here i 
am booting from knoppix and trying to recover some data.

good news is that support for mounting windows software raid volumes is 
working good under linux (even if i had to do it by hand).  now i just have 
to get the data off of that raid volume and try to recover some data on the 
borked partitions on other drives.
