linux and midi

(no i havent googled yet, i will be right after this email)

im looking for someone who has done midi stuff with linux.  what im wanting 
to do is hook up a midi keyboard to my system and compose some tracks for a 
video game (a small little side project i work on, then decide i wont finish 
so i delete everything, then down the line i start working on it again).  
anyone done any midi stuff on linux or know someone who has?
