Will the wonders never cease

I just thought some people would find this very
interesting, and funny.  Here's the situation, have a
HP Pavilion, that came with Windows ME, after a while
I upgraded it to XP.  Little did I know the problems
that would come.  It turns out that the Lucent
Winmodem that came with the computer had a problem
with XP where it would never go through the handshake
process while dialing out.  This is where the fun
comes in, Microsoft said it was a hardware issue and
weren't going to issue a fix for it, HP said it was a
Microsoft problem and they should fix it.  Eventually
I just reformatted and returned to the older ME.  This
entire time LinModem works flawlessly.
