Re: OT: happy now? ;-) Re: Monday's C'dale meeting topic

I will reply to many posts:

I am very consious of this and very careful of where/how I use these tools.
"Wardriving" can be done against your own network for testing purposes. This
is where I try 'all the bells and whistles' of these packages.
(Netstumbler/Ministumbler/kismet etc) We also use these tools for site
surveys here on campus (SIU). So, not all use is bad. ;-)

I forgot my expansion pack at home today. :-( But yes, that is some of what I
wanted to show tonight. I did remember the mobile antenna though (and the
convertible). Go figure.

We have got to get together !! ;-)

Seriously, it looks like we need to all chip in some knowledge and get a
presentation going on this. We can give it at both locations. Tonight's
presentation in C'dale will just be a quicky intro to all this stuff. It
definatly seems there is an intrest in both groups. (and it would give me an
excuse to show up at an O'Fallon meeting) More of the issues of [in]security
of wireless should be addressed as tighe has pointed out. Each item on his
list is small, but adding them all up gets you closer to true security.
These are all things the 'home' wireless user/admin should address, and there
are better approches to take ($$) in the business world.
