Ran into this little proggie



I ran across this user space replacement for syslogd. It seems the netfilter
folks have found it pretty useful for iptables logging...

Pretty nifty. And yes, Shorewall already has support for it.
No more schlepping through /var/log/messages. :=)

Also, several folks have noted that this looks like a nice log parser/reporting
tool. But there are a couple in the Shorewall FAQ as well.
