Not really.  If you can get to an xterm or something, you can try:

% gconftool-2 --type=string /desktop/gnome/interface/font_name --set "Sans 10"

or something similar.  Change the "Sans 10" part to something that fits, and
from looking at it, Gnome doesn't support the X11-style font strings, so don't try.
