Yup, you oughta look at the AAN (Albatross Ariel Network) for long
distance connections over water.  Save ya a bundle!

you think that SLAN's are hard, you should try TOKEN (The Old Kangaroo
Encasement Network) rings!  If it was too many hops away, you have a
chance of packet loss!
