Re: Lycoris?

It's actually pretty slick, I have my parents running it on a cyrix
m2-300 (read 266mhz) with 128 meg ram and 20 gig hdd, it actually runs
pretty nicely, and they don't seem to have a problem using it, it does
everything they need (spreadsheet, word processor, rip cd's to ogg and
playback), I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to figure out
linux and doesn't need anymore than the basics, and their version of
wine seems to be tuned nicely, I personally wouldn't use it I'll stick
with suse, have a lot of fun!

Well, let's just say, 'if your VCR is still blinking 12:00, you don't
want Linux'.

I just checked it out, at http://www.lycoris.com/. They make it sound
kind of cool, but I wonder how good it could be, since half their
"demo" graphics don't come up. Looks like another wannabe "windows
replacement," without the windows apps.

Talking about Windows replacements, anyone taken a look at win4lin
terminal server?
http://www.netraverse.com/

It's supposed to enable Win9x/Me sessions on a Linux server/cluster. I
wonder how it would do with that Accelerated Reader program we were
talking about a while back...
