have you ever been so lazy that instead of figuring out the regexp in perl
that you use other commands in funny ways?

situation:  needed to get rid of the slice information from the
/dev/dsk/c1t0d0s0.

first i started with regexp's realized that my caffenine level was low so
i did this.

chomp $foo;
chop $foo;
chop $foo;

god.  i feel like such a dork.
