Re: possible hardware incompatibility?
I've always used the Intel Alteon GigE cards, and never had much
problem with them. Granted that doesn't help you much.
You've probably already done this, but I would check to make sure
that the switch and the card sync up with regard to duplex and speed.
That's where I've seen the most problems.
